RC Sailing Barcelona is a fast-paced, hands-on 4-month engineering sprint that challenges participants to bridge the gap between raw theory and the open water.

An Inclusive Educational Platform

The program welcomes a diverse ecosystem of participants, bridging the gap between university classrooms and technical vocational training (Formación Profesional). By uniting engineering students from all technical branches with specialized vocational and design students, RC Sailing Barcelona fosters a real-world teamwork environment where varied skill sets collaborate to solve complex naval engineering challenges.

Our Process

    Month 1: Conception & Hydrodynamics

    Transforming raw ideas into technical reality. Teams move rapidly from draft sketches to full 3D CAD modeling, establishing hull geometry and naval architecture fundamentals.

    Month 2: Material Science & Prototyping

    Hands-on workshop immersion. Teams begin perfecting composite layups and optimizing 3D printing parameters for structural bio-plastics, turning digital files into physical components.

    Month 3: DFM Integration & Modular Assembly

    The pieces come together. Focus shifts to streamlining the assembly line, minimizing hardware, and ensuring that any part prone to racing stress can be swapped out or repaired in minutes.

    Month 4: Testing, Tuning & The Regatta

    The moment of truth. Prototypes hit the water at Port Vell. Teams spend the final weeks analyzing data, fine-tuning sail trim and electronics, and concluding the program with an intense, high-stakes university regatta.
